The elegant brick home built by the Kirkman family in the Italianate Victorian style in 1880 is now Kirkman House Museum in Walla Walla WA.  We attended their Victorian Ball on Oct. 24, 2015.
Husband Dan and I chose the 1870s for our clothing. His ensemble includes a beautiful Black cutaway coat and trousers with suspenders, white shirt, royal blue puff tie, and silver collared brocade vest, all from Historical Emporium. I wore a royal blue shantung silk bustled dress in 7 layers of skirts and slips, corset, lace-topped boots, diamond earbobs and my mother-in-law’s cameo brooch. The perfect ensembles for an evening of Virginia reel-style contra dances and waltzes to live period music.
